Skunk Anansie have announced the rescheduled dates for their 25th anniversary tour, including a homecoming show at Brixton Academy in March 2022.
The alt-rockers celebrated their quarter century in 2019 with the release of a live album, 25Live@25. However, they were forced to postpone their accompanying UK and European tours in both 2020 and 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The spring 2022 tour will kick off on 3 March at A2 in Wrocław, Poland, visiting 38 venues across the continent, including Brixton Academy on Friday 25 March, supported by punk duo Never Not Nothing. All tickets bought for the previous dates will still be valid.
Skunk Anansie lead singer Skin, who was born and raised in Brixton, has previously said of the venue, “Of all the places we love to play in the world, this is the best.” The frontwoman, whose memoir It Takes Blood And Guts was released last year, was awarded an OBE in June for her services to music as part of the Queen’s 2021 Birthday Honours list.
