Brixton Village pizza favourite and Herne Hill restaurant Agile Rabbit are organising a jazz concert on Wednesday (3 February) at 8 pm. The set will be recorded at The Agile Rabbit and broadcast online.
Tunes in Rooms #7 will see a high-profile quartet of London-based musicians – Daisy George (bass), Danny Keane (keys), Tristan Banks (drums) and Guido Spannocchi (sax) – play originals by Danny and Guido as well as groove-oriented classics from bebop to Brazil.
All proceeds will go to the musicians.
Daisy George is one of London’s most in-demand bass players renowned even for her regular appearance at The Kansas Smitty’s channel or Ronnie Scott’s streams.
Tristan Banks on drums usually tours the world with the likes of Steve Winwood, Roy Ayers or Macus Valle.
Danny Keane on keyboards has been seen across the globe with Mulatu Astatke, Anoushka Shankar, Florence and the Machine and many others.
Host Guido Spannocchi, will front the band on alto sax, guiding you through the repertoire.
Agile Rabbit said it is a safe haven for uncompromising repertoire and has been a proving ground for many musicians.
“We are glad this club is supportive of our craft even during the current circumstance.
“Tune in for this exclusive opportunity to hear a high-octane quartet in a real life club.”
The concert will be streamed via Zoom. People who want to watch and listen will receive the link after making a donation.
