The Brixton Windmill Harvest Festival returns this Sunday 17 September from 2–5pm. A packed programme for all the family will include haystack building, harvest poem recitals by the Brixton Windmill Theatre Company and baking demonstrations by the Old Post Office Bakery.
There will also be a snail race (bring your own or one can be provided), face painting and a bouncy castle, as well as a giant noughts and crosses game and animals from Brixton City Farm. Live music will be provided by the Umbrellabirds, Jug Addicts, Los Domingos, Bob Glynn and Groove School.
Free workshops include harvest dough decorations from spoilt windmill flour with Heart in Art Workshops, straw hats with Jane Smith, rush, cane and seagrass upholstery with Irene Dickson, felt bowls with Flextiles, bird feeders with Urban Canopy and natural beauty products from herbs with Pure Goodness.
All are welcome for an afternoon of harvest fun as the Brixton Windmill and all its supporters celebrate another season. Here’s hoping for some autumn sunshine.
