Now in its seventh year, Oxjam Brixton music festival is a multi-venue showcase of homegrown artists from across the music spectrum in support of Oxfam GB, the charity that has been fighting global poverty since 1942. Great music, great prices and it’s for a great cause.
It launches on Friday 14 October with a party at the Prince of Wales with Brixton’s Jumpin Jack Frost and acid house classics; Second Storey with techno and electro; underground pioneer Warlock of Kool FM; Pop Brixton’s Container Records with a very mixed bag of vinyl; DJ Lucinda with house and garage; reggae and hip hop from Midas; all hosted by Boogaloo Dee.
On the terrace will be Hudnall, Busyfingers, D’Vo and Chief Commander Yaaba.

If you’re able to make it after that, on Saturday 15 October, Oxfam will be taking over Upstairs at The Ritzy, Blues Kitchen, White Horse and Market House. You can pick up a wristband for all events at the Ritzy from noon onwards. The after party at the White Horse ends 15 hours later at 3am. Tickets for individual entry to a venue at £5 will also be available on the door. Among the attractions will be The Brass Funkeys; The Domingos; The Indios; Lit FM; Mack; Izzie Yardley; Lima Alpha Uniform; Big Tooth; Raggo Zulu Rebel; The Final Clause Of Tacitus; Liam ‘Waltz’ Stewart; Ben Joseph; P.man & Z.P Camilo; Croft & Cotes; Yung Jozy; and Reg Naylor.
Ritzy acts run from noon to 11pm; Blues Kitchen, noon to 4pm; Market House, 5pm to 10pm; White Horse after party 9pm to 3am.
Oxjam is a national music festival throughout October with events from Aberdeen to Totnes and Holyhead to Margate.
It began in 2006 with the aim of creating a network of music-loving people across the UK united by a shared goal – to raise money to fight poverty and suffering around the world. Ten years on it’s still going strong, with thousands of fundraising events put on by ordinary people, from large-scale gigs to sponsored street busks.
