Serefina Taylor, from Brixton, along with friend Jo and boyfriend Wulf all gave something up for the month of April to raise money for child.org a charity providing education and healthcare to children in Kenya and Uganda.
Serefina pledged to quit swearing for a month and has so far raised £1009, and rising! The 32-year-old costume maker said: “Swearing is like breathing to me, so it has been a tough challenge so far”.
We’re still getting in the last donations, I reckon we’ll get to around £1,100 before the week is out.” Every swearword costs her £1. Her friend Jo hasn’t worn a dress since 2008, but pledged to wear them every day for a month, including a purple number with tassles on it! Boyfriend Wulf gave up smoking.
The team will throw a ‘thank you’ picnic extravaganza for all their sponsors, which will take place in late May.
