This week’s Laid Bare Live on Thursday night welcomes another eclectic mix of hand picked artists and includes the album launch of William Poyer.
William Poyer’s album ‘Born Lucky’ is the second release on Laid Bare Records, and is the culmination of a three-year songwriting stint in Mexico for Welsh-born singer-songwriter William Poyer.
Six other artists will also be showcased throughout the evening.
Previous Laid Bare performers ‘Them and Us’, Ami Carmine and Killa Kela, bring their expansive, electronic energy to the proceedings.
BBC Radio 1Xtra favourite Zach Said will also be making an appearance.
There will be a welcome addition to the evening from Laid Bare regular contributor, singer/songwriter Our Man in the Field – Alexander Ellis.
Guernsey blues and soul musician Joe Corbin, who cites some his influences as Ray Lamontagne, Tom Waits and John Martyn, promises to deliver some moody guitar work with underlying soul/jazz influences.
Laid Bare also showcase another very individual act – Indie electronica duo CHALK , aka Jonny Breakwell and Josh Fowley. Both originally performing as singer songwriters, their electronic partnership incorporates easily accessible hooks and melodies within its looping and synth based wizardry.
Originally from Bristol, London based Rob Bravery on voice and keyboards returns to Laid Bare and having recently performed at the BBC Introducing showcase.
The evening runs from 7.00pm – 11.00pm 0n Thursday 28 April set in the refurbished 19th century warehouse, with the first act scheduled for 7.30pm. For more info, please contact Rami Radi at rami@laidbarelive.com.
