Brixton Tube has been renamed Electric Avenue as part of a bid by a London news website to reimagine every station name in the capital.

The new map – which is just for fun – was created by train-geek Geoff Marshall with the help of Londonist readers, and published today.

Writing on Londonist.com, Marshall said: “We’re rather proud of our brand new parallel London where Marble Arch is renamed Speaker’s Corner and Earl’s Court becomes the much more evocative Kangaroo Court. Meanwhile, Tottenham Court Road goes wandering a bit further north, and Leicester Square evolves into Chinatown.”

He added: “Now we just have to start using these new monikers in public — and slowly replace each map at every single tube station then our work is done.”
