Over the weekend of the 26th & 27th April the Crafty Fox Market returns to its local haunt, the Dogstar in Brixton. 90 talented designers and makers, handpicked by guest curator David Nicholls, design editor at the Telegraph Magazine will make see the market at its biggest and best to date.
Upstairs at the Dogstar will be a chance to discover fresh craft talent with Crafty Fox Uncovered – part of a new scheme that supports and mentors makers who are just starting out, and allows them to showcase their wares.
Shoppers can satisfy their creative appetites with screen printing workshops led by Mr Wingate and quench their thirsts with a pint in the bar or tea and cake in the tea room. The weekend will also feature live DJ sets.
The Crafty Fox Market began in 2010 when Brixton locals Sinead and Stephan Koehler set about creating an affordable forum for talented makers to sell their work. It’s proved hugely popular with locals and non-locals alike keen to discover new creative talent and find fantastic and unique presents. Their slogan, ‘Crafting is the New Clubbing’ says it all: this is craft gone cool, but still keeping the tea and cake.
