The Human Rights Watch film festival returns to the Ritzy this month.
The week-long festival captures stories from around the world, showing both documentaries and feature films, focusing on five themes:
- Armed conflict and the Arab spring,
- human rights defenders, icons and villains,
- lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights,
- migrants’ rights,
- and women’s rights and children’s rights.
HRWFF director, John Biaggi, said this year’s programme demonstrates “the tenacity and heroic efforts of human rights activists to bring war crimes to the world’s attention.”
There will also be a short film screening organised by Roehampton University on March 22 and an exhibition by Ritzy staff.
Minda Moreira, from the Ritzy, said: “This is the first time we have organised a major staff exhibition so we are absolutely thrilled.”
The festival runs from March 21 to 26. Buy tickets from the Ritzy website.
