The Brixton branch of HSBC had to close its doors yesterday as UK Uncut staged a protest against as part of a nationwide action against the bank.
The ‘Stuff the Banks’ day of action was intended to highlight growing inequalities in Britain, between those who have to rely on foodbanks and banks such as HSBC, which UK Uncut accused of dodging tax. Protestors brought food with them to turn the outside of the bank into a foodbank for the day.
UK Uncut is a national movement pushing for alternatives to the government’s spending cuts.
I wonder how many on the protest avoid paying rent council tax because they are squatters.
I wonder if you could let us all know when you have the courage to ask them face to face instead of just posting that puerile question on here, Mark?
