Tuesday The Ritzy hosts an unusual screening: Pompeii Live from the British Museum. The film offers an exclusive private view of the British Museum’s sold out exhibition from the comfort of your cinema seat. The exhibition’s curator and an assortment of experts will aim to bring the exhibition’s objects to life for viewers. Starts 7pm.
Wednesday The Queen’s Head have been healing our midweek blues for a while now with their Reggae Wednesdays, an unbeatable mix of free entry, local DJs and a warm crowd.
Thursday Knees Up Mother Brown is Kaff Bar’s monthly open mic night offering, with audience participation warmly encouraged. Free entry, Starts 8pm
Friday An intriguing exhibition opens to the public today at Blackline Art Gallery on Atlantic Road. Entitled ‘Kiran’, it is an exploration of Indian life through the lense of photographer Sara Bertolasi. The exhibition is open from 1pm til 7pm and closes on the 28th of June.
Saturday Today you can enjoy fun in the community with the Brixton Windmill Parade and Festival. Witness the spectacle of a fabulous parade from outside Brixton Library at 1pm featuring floats, music and participants dressed up as cakes, pudding or pies. At 2pm you can head over to Windmill Gardens to enjoy the festival and accompanying food stalls , which run all afternoon.
Sunday The Jim Jones Revue, a rock ‘n’ roll outfit feted by Mojo magazine are gracing Electric Brixton with their presence. This is a band which sold out at Koko and appeared on Later With Jules Holland, now performing to Brixton with a ticket price of £14.50.
