Last month, the new-look Brixton Blog celebrated its first birthday in Brixton Town. In that first year the news site has attracted hundreds of thousands of hits, held a number of campaigns and consistently broken crucial local news.
The Blog and Bugle team now wants to build on that by attracting a new wave of contributors to the website and its monthly local print newspaper (right).
If you’ve ever wanted to get involved with a community project like this, come along to our first contributors meeting of 2013, at Kaff Bar, Atlantic Road, at 7pm on Thursday March 21.
We’re on the look out for news and council reporters, arts and features writers, photographers and designers. We’d also like to here from experienced video editors, audio people and web pros. So if you have ideas for the Brixton Blog, please do come along to the meeting. We’ll probably stay around afterwards for a bit of a social too.
We are also looking to grow our talented team of editors to grow different sections of the website. More specifically we need:
- Sports Editor
- Music Editor
- Listings Editor
- News Editor
If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a Brixton Blog editor, please send us an email to newsdesk@brixtonblog.com giving an indication of your relevant experience.
If you can come, let us know on Facebook or drop us a line. If you can’t come, but want to get involved, please also send us some mail!
This sounds really interesting. I think what you have created is amazing. I’ll definitely come along to find out more.
