Murder enquiry launched after death in Streatham

Police have launched a amurder enquiry after discovering the body of a woman, believed to be aged in her 20s, in Streatham yesterday.

The woman was discovered at 2am yesterday by officers called to an address in James Boswell Close, Streatham. They were contacted by somebody concerned for the welfare of the resident, who had not been seen for some time.

A post-mortem is expected to take place at Greenwich mortuary today, and next of kin have been informed.

An incident room has opened, led by DCI Sheila Stewart. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the death to call them at the incident room on 020 8345 3982, or to remain anonymous to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
