A man was found seriously injured outside a Brixton pub in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called at 3.15am to the Dogstar pub, on the corner of Atlantic Road and Coldharbour Lane, and found the man had been shot in the leg and beaten. The incident had nothing to do with the pub itself.
The Dogstar Twitter feed said said the man “stumbled up” and collapsed on the doorstep at about 3am, and may have been shot in the leg.
A post by the bar on the Twitter website at 3.45am said: “A man collapsed with a serious injury on our doorstep. It had nothing to do with @DogstarBrixton, but ended here. We wish him well.”
In another message at 4am today the Dogstar wrote: “Police still here but he seemingly was shot in leg and had head injuries, etc. But he’s alive.”
The victim was reportedly wearing only tracksuit trousers when he collapsed in the street.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police and London Ambulance Service attend to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He has been taken to hospital where he is in a stable condition.”
Trident gang command has been made aware of the incident and there have been no arrests.
