“Look after your neighbours,” was the Christmas message from Lambeth mayor Christopher Wellbelove.
He joined speakers from Brixton’s Mosaic centre – his chosen charity for his mayorality – as he switched on the lights of Brixton’s Christmas tree last night.
He was joined by Mosaic programme director Beverley Randall and Angela, a Mosaic member, who read her own moving poem about being an insider and an outsider.
The Corpus Christi school choir entertained parents and passers-by as Christmas came to Brixton.
