Brixton Windmill’s programme for the year includes highlights like its Beer and Bread Festival, Art in the Park Harvest Festival and the fourth annual Windmill Lecture.
The season opens on 13 and 14 April with an open weekend offering guided tours of the windmill.
The popular heritage walks in the area around the windmill led by London blue badge tourist guides start on Sunday 14 April. Just turn up at 1pm and pay on the day. Walks cost £6, concessions £4, children free, with proceeds going towards the refurbishment work on Brixton Windmill.
Full programme at www.brixtonwindmill.org.uk.
The windmill’s new education centre is due to be completed this summer and will provide improved facilities for visitors and allow the Friends of Windmill Gardens to expand their education programme.
Friends of Windmill Gardens are looking for a core team of up to six people to oversee the kitting out of the education centre. Anyone who has experience in equipping education, community or business spaces, or who has creative ideas to help make sure that the new space is kitted out to get the best out of its future education, community and visitor attraction functions. The first meeting will be on Tuesday 26 March at 7pm. Email volunteers@brixtonwindmill.org.uk
