Keen to keep Christmas shopping local? Well, there’s a Christmas market outside Herne Hill’s Half Moon Pub this Saturday (13th December) to start you off.
It’s organised by Blue Patch, a local hub for quality British-made ethical producers, so you’ll be able to browse and buy work from different small businesses from around. There will be decorations through to stocking fillers – from businesses like Luva Huva (handmade lingerie in soft ethical fabrics) and prints and ceramics from a number of artists (Lydia Brenchley, Anna Silverton, Annette Welch, Louise Ward, plus Blue Patch’s own Jane and Julia). Cycling bods can get oiled (literally) by Green Oil, who will be selling their natural cleaning gift sets. And Sven Cycles are selling their award-winning Devon-made bikes.
It promises fun festive activities too… like a singing Green Santa (not the political party, as far as we know). And a recycled forest.
Green Christmas runs from 11am to 4pm. More info here.
