Three bright purple ‘morph’ men from Lambeth will be swimming, cycling and running around London in a three-day triathlon they have organised next week to raise money for a London arts education charity.
Brixtonite Jamie Ritchie, 34, is donning pink and purple lycra with two mates from August 16-18 to do their so-called ‘Try-Art-London’ challenge. They will do a 6km swim at Tooting Bec Lido on Friday, then a 100 mile cycle across all 33 London boroughs on Saturday, followed by a 20km run on Sunday. The charity they are supporting is Eastside Educational Trust, which engages disadvantaged youth in a wide range of arts activities.
One of the competitors, James Peterson, is a Trustee for Eastside and organised the stunt to fund raise for the charity. Jamie Ritchie said: “If Eastside can encourage young Londoners to step out of their comfort zone and try something new then donning bright purple morph suits and putting ourselves through a tough physical challenge is the least we can do.”
The three men are hoping to raise £6,000 with the Rothschild Group matching the first thousand pounds raised. Anyone wanting to sponsor Jamie can visit:
