The Brixton Blog reached another social media landmark today when it passed 10,000 followers on the social networking site Twitter at @BrixtonBlog.
The Twitter account for the website, set up by founder and co-editor Zoe Jewell, offers a fun feed of news, reviews and mentions of events across Brixton. It also links to longer articles on the Blog and other online sources.
In May, @BrixtonBlog was featured in the Observer Magazine’s front page feature The People You Should Follow on Twitter, and continued to extend its online reach. The 10,000 followers join 1,750 Facebook fans and 1,200 subscribers to a weekly round-up email.
Tweets, limited to 140 characters, are made mostly by the Brixton Blog’s core team. This includes features editor @Luke_mas, arts editors @Minimalismblog and @BarneyEvison, Politics editor @KayeWiggins and overall editors @Zoe_Jewell and @Tim_Dickens.
So here’s to Twitter – and 10,000 more followers!
Hey! My name is %NAME% and I personally just wanted to say your blog site is awesome! It’s funny due to the fact I use to have a blog that practically had an identical website url: http://www.brixtonblog.com mine was only a few letters different. In any case, I’m a big fan of your blog site and if you ever want a guest article please make sure to email me. I absolutely adore writing!
