There are 10 days left for emerging young local performers to enter the LambethSounds Emerging Artist competition and play at the Cross The Tracks event in Brockwell Park in May.
The fifth competition closes for entries on Monday 31 March. Run by the event organisers in collaboration with LambethSounds, offers one young artist or group/collective the opportunity to play live alongside some the big names appearing at Cross The Tracks.
Lambeth Sounds is a collective of local highly experienced and renowned music organisations working together to increase opportunities for young people at all ages and stages of their musical journeys and early careers.
This year’s act will be picked by Ashley Thomas – the award-winning rapper Bashy.
Entrants must be between 18 and 25 years old, their music, in keeping with Cross The Tracks, must be jazz, funk or soul – or a subgenre of these.
Priority will be given to Lambeth-based artists or people associated with local grass roots music organisations in Lambeth and surrounding areas.
