The trustees of Thrale Almshouse and Relief in Need Charity have opened this year’s grant programme, designed to support community groups and local organisations in Brixton, Streatham, Tulse Hill, West Norwood, Balham, and Tooting – in the “ancient parish” of Streatham.

The deadline for applications is Friday 6 December 2024 and grants will be awarded in Spring 2025.
The charity is making around £40,000 available to organisations that support positive changes in people’s lives and in their communities.
In 2023 Thrale awarded grants to local groups including:
- Youth music charity Kinetika Bloco
- South London Refugee Association
- Furzedown Community Network
- Bounce Theatre in Wandsworth
- Outings for Older South Londoners
- St Matthew’s Project
- Tooting Community Kitchen
- 4th Streatham Sea Scouts.
