Brixton’s Advocacy Academy is running a free ten-session course for people of all ages who are angry about injustice.

Open to anyone from 0 to 100, it is designed to provide the tools that can turn anger into action to make the change they want to see in their communities.

Sessions, at 5pm on the second Tuesday of the month, will cover topics such as power, how to run good meetings, and conflict resolution as well as lots of good food.

“Don’t worry if you haven’t thought of yourself as a changemaker before,” the academy says. “You do not need any knowledge or experience to get involved, just come with an open mind and a willingness to get stuck in.”

The course begins on Tuesday 10 December and is run by the Advocacy Academy, a youth organising movement training young people from South London in the skills needed to change the world, and InCommon, a charity that creates opportunities for young and old people to learn from one another.

The sessions will be at the academy’s new Liberation Centre in Brixton Rec. Assistance with fares may be available and a creche is being investigated.
