Paul Weller, Primal Scream and Kneecap are all set to perform at a “Gig For Gaza” charity show at the 02 Academy in Brixton on Friday 13 December.
They are some of the acts that will be taking the stage at the event to raise funds for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza amid continuing Israeli attacks on the area and concern over the denial of humanitarian aid to the victims.
The former Jam frontman has chosen the line-up for the gig, which includes Liam Bailey and more artists who will be announced in the coming weeks.
All proceeds from the show will go directly to MAP (Medical Aid For Palestinians) and Gaza Forever.
Both charities provide essential aid – including food, medical supplies and emergency shelter.
The concert will also feature guest speakers and short films and promises to bring together “some extraordinary talent to raise much needed funds and awareness” amid the ongoing conflict.
Artwork for the show has been designed by Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack who have consistently called for an end to the brutal occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people.
“This is an opportunity to enjoy a night of powerful music, and make a tangible difference in the lives of people facing unimaginable hardship. Every ticket and donation counts,” say the organisers
Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (15 November).
