Two Brockwell Park festivals are offering aspiring musicians the chance to be on their line-ups this summer.
Mighty Hoopla and Cross The Tracks have teamed up with the Lambeth Music Service to offer slots to artists aged between 18-25 who either live in the borough or are associated with a Lambeth-based music organisation.
Mighty Hoopla (4 September) will be looking for an upcoming pop or RnB act to play the opening set on their main stage, alongside headliners Cheryl, Becky Hill, En Vogue and Gabrielle. The competition closes on 7 August, and the winner will be chosen by a panel of judges from the festival’s programming team and pop duo Nimmo. More information on how to enter is available here.
Cross The Tracks (5 September) is on the hunt for the rising stars of jazz, funk or soul to join their line-up, which already includes Lianne La Havas, Sister Sledge, The Cinematic Orchestra and Sons of Kemet. Entries close on 4 August, and the applicants will be judged by world-renowned DJs Norman Jay MBE and Gilles Peterson, both of whom will be performing at the festival.
