Talented Brixton boxer Dillian Whyte will take on Brazil’s Irineu Beato Costa Junior next month. The fight, which is scheduled for August 1 at Hull’s KC Lightstream Stadium, will be aired live on Sky Sports. Whyte, who honed his skills at Miguel’s Boxing Gym, is currently on 14-0 with ten knockouts (KO) under his belt. He hopes to increase his KO run when he faces Costa Junior.
The Brixton bruiser will fight on the undercard of a highly anticipated bantamweight grudge match between London 2012 gold medallist Luke Campbell MBE and Tommy Coyle.
In November or December this year Whyte will take on his heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua MBE in a clash for the British title.
Joshua, who is an Olympic Gold medallist, is due to battle Gary Cornish for the vacant Commonwealth title at The O2 on September 12.
There is not much love lost between Whyte and Joshua who is currently undefeated. The prospect of the two heavyweights clashing in the ring has been the subject of a lot of chatter on social media. It’s a contest many boxing fans are looking forward to.
