A Brixton man who shot bailiffs as they tried to evict him from his Brixton home has been jailed for 15 years.
Andrew Stephenson, 49, shot at a bailiff and housing association worker when they arrived with a locksmith at his Strathleven Road home on July 3 last year.
The unnamed bailiff was shot twice in the leg as he entered the property, and Norma Johnson, a worker from Metropolitan Housing, was shot in the knee after being chased into the street by the gunman.
Detective Sergeant Paul Carruth said: “This was an appalling and excessively violent attack on innocent people, who were simply doing their job.”
Stephenson was convicted of the shooting in January.
What reasons were given for his actions?
I hope that is 15 years with no parole.
