The second issue of the Brixton Bugle, picture left, hit the streets of SW2 and SW9 this morning.
The Bugle team were outside Brixton Tube station from 7.30am to give out 7,000 copies of the hyperlocal paper, published by the Brixton Blog. Newspapers will also be available from Brixton Library, the Ritzy cinema, Lambeth Town Hall and in a number of shops, cafes and pubs across Brixton Town Centre.
It doesn’t seem like a month since the first edition but we’d like to thank everybody who sent us feedback about what they saw. 5,000 people picked up a copy of Edition 1 from the Tube station or from the Ritzy, Library and businesses across the town.
There is a lot to discover in today’s paper. One year after the latest Brixton riots, we asked community leaders and politicians how they feel. We have a profile of legendary Brixton cricket coach Brian Moody and Miss South from North South Food gives us her recipe for a tender goat and lemon tagine.
This time, we have gone from eight pages to 12. It has been hard work, and the newspaper is still growing, so continue to bear with us while we get to grips with our publishing skills. If you have any comments please get in touch with us at info@brixtonblog.com.
So look out for your copy this morning, and delve into your very own Brixton Bugle.
