Clapham meets Jamaica is how Wayne Amiel describes his amazing and award-winning garden that has featured in BBC2’s Gardeners’ World.
You will be able to see for yourself at a National Garden Scheme open day on Sunday 20 July.
The scheme says that the relatively small (eight x 20 metres) north-facing garden shows what can be achieved in a small space.
“This is gardening at its most exuberant, where bananas, bamboos, tree ferns and fire bright plants flourish beside the traditional,” it says.

You will also be able to enjoy home-made cakes and tea and to buy plants from Wayne.
Find him and his garden at 35 Turret Grove, Clapham Old Town, SW4 0ES – buses 137 and 87 stop nearby and Clapham Common Tube is 10 minutes’ walk away.
Opening times are 10am to 5pm.
Tickets are £5.50 for adults, children free. To book in advance, go to dub.sh/35-Turret-Grove-200725, or you can just turn up and pay on the day.
