Urban Art Brixton this weekend

Brixton’s unique open-air art show – Urban Art – celebrates 22 years of colour, creativity, and community in Josephine Avenue once again this weekend (5–6 July).

Open from 10am to 6pm, the event promises an inspiring weekend for art lovers of all ages and budgets, say the organisers.

With more than 120 exhibitors, the event offers a unique opportunity to buy art directly from its creators.

Urban Art showcases a range of styles and talents – from painting and printmaking to photography and mixed media, and from emerging artists to well-established names.

Beyond the art, visitors can enjoy food stalls offering flavours from around the world.

As well as an art fair, Urban Art is also a community event. It provides affordable exhibition space for South London artists and supports local charities through donations.

Participating artists will contribute 10% of their sales to this year’s charity partners: Holy Trinity school, Jubilee primary school, Southside rehabilitation project, and The Anchor Group.

Charity partners will also be present throughout the weekend, volunteering as marshals and sharing information about their vital work at the information desk.
