Silas Armstrong, who for two and a half years worked both as a singer and as marketing manager for the Brixton Chamber Orchestra, is getting back together with the BCO over the festive season.

He has been working on his own projects, including headlining at The Bedford in Balham and performing at a festival with Peter Andre and B*Witched – “not names I’d ever expected to share a line up with!” he says.

This month he is playing a concert with Jason Donovan in support of Child Bereavement UK, a charity close to Silas’ heart after the loss of his son Teddy in 2024.

“In the six months from Teddy’s cancer diagnosis to his tragic death, I wrote a collection of songs as a form of therapy when I couldn’t sleep, a personal coping mechanism whilst caring for him,” says Silas.

“These songs navigate the trials and emotions of such a traumatic experience, and they make up my next album Radio Therapy, due for release 2026.”

He is playing a headline show at The Bread & Roses in Clapham on Saturday 6 December, with support from Roscoe Street – a funk rock six-piece from Liverpool. (7–11pm, tickets £8) as well as shows across Lambeth with the BCO.

His latest single Rude was BBC Introducing Track of the Day …
