Honour your ancestors, confront the unknown, seek spiritual inspiration and ward off evil spirits that can cross into the world of the living at Halloween – Samhain if you are a Celt.
The festival once marked a point in the year when the veil between the living and the passed was at its thinnest and also the end of harvest – so there are few more appropriate places to celebrate it in Brixton than our Windmill that will mark Halloween on Sunday 26 October from 1 to 4pm with a free family event in Windmill Gardens.
Enjoy …
- A lantern carving workshop – make a traditional pumpkin lantern. £3 per pumpkin. Children must be aged at least seven and must be accompanied by an adult.
- Spooky stories for children (five to 11) inside the windmill at 1.30 and 2.45pm. This is a drop-in with a sign-up sheet on the day.
- Halloween arts and crafts with drop-in activity inside Brixton Windmill Centre.
The Windmill’s shop and cafe will be open.
