Reflections of Brixton is an innovative and exciting two-day exhibition bringing together over 20 artists whose work reflects the stories, textures and contradictions of Brixton.
Spanning painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media and assemblage, the show brings into view both the everyday and the unexpected – from foxes moving through the city at night to the layered histories embedded in local packaging and markets.
Highlights include Marco Adlington’s atmospheric wildlife painting; Arabella Yapp’s portrait of Brixton Market; and Jo Gibbs’ What a Waste assemblages made from Brixton packaging, food and garden waste, and found materials.

The show is free and runs from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on 4 and 5 December in Brixton Warehouse, Unit 3, 45 Morrish Road, SW2 4EE – a short bus ride from Brixton Tube up Brixton Hill.
Alongside the exhibition, Brixton Warehouse will host two special events (a book signing on Thursday and a poetry night, talk and Q & A on Friday) led by art historian Leslie Primo, author of The Foreign Invention of British Art.
