Plates & Stories, a collaborative documentary photography exhibition of The Big Caribbean Lunch, opens on 8 August in Photofusion.
This vibrant project brings together three young emerging artists – Ryanna Allen, Kadeen Brown, and Dejanae Dickenson – who documented The Big Caribbean Lunch in Windrush Square, this summer. Capturing the energy and heart of this lively public celebration, this photography and moving image exhibition offers a reflection on Caribbean culture, identity, and community through the eyes of the younger generation. Plates & Stories is both a creative collaboration and a cultural archive in the making. The project foregrounds the importance of shared meals and storytelling, honouring Caribbean heritage while nurturing the next generation of visual artists.

The exhibition is part of the Windrush Untold Stories project, and was developed as part of Photofusion’s Creators’ Studio and under the mentorship of photographers Amit Lennon and Takenya K Holness.
Plates & Stories runs from 8 to 23 August in Photofusion, Unit 2, 2 Beehive Place, SW9 7QR
Entry is free and opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am–6pm
