Lambeth council leader Claire Holland was awarded an OBE for services to local government in the 2026 new years honours list announced tonight (29 December).
The borough of Lambeth was recently named as the London borough of the year in the New London Architecture awards.
Other Lambeth figures honoured include Edison David, executive headteacher of Granton Primary School, Streatham Vale, with an MBE for services to education.
British Empire Medals went to Robin Langton-Dodds for services to disadvantaged young people in Lambeth; Ruth Flynn, director of sixth form at La Retraite Roman Catholic Girls School, Clapham Park, for services to further education; and Neil Salt, constituency officer for Streatham and Croydon North, Lambeth and Southwark Conservative Federation for political service.
