A man has been arrested after a female police officer was assaulted in Brixton.Yesterday, March 12, police were called at 5.15 pm to Brixton Tube station after reports of a drunken male causing a disturbance in the area.
As officers spoke with the man he lay on the floor and became unresponsive.
He then lashed out and punched a female office trying to assist him in the face and kicked her in the stomach.

The man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer.
The 26-year-old female officer was taken to a south London hospital for treatment to her injuries and has now been discharged.
A 54-year-old man remains in custody.
