Bubble man blowing giant bubbles at Lambeth Fringe

Lambeth Fringe runs in venues from Waterloo to Camberwell till 25 October. For full details and tickets go to https://lambethfringe.com. Here are this week’s most local highlights.

Gut Feelings 30 September, Club Silly, Arch 555, Arch 18 Valentia Place, SW9 8PJ, 7pm. Tickets £6, £5 concs.
Individual Hot Pot, a Sheffield-based duo formed of researcher Nam Huh and composer Ewan Knight, bring Gut Feelings to South London. The show, initially inspired by one of Knight’s students using his stomach growling to construct a beat, is a “radically tender reframe of awkwardness”, exploring how we perceive the involuntary noises our bodies make. Expect some interactive surprises!

Collywobblers 30 September, Birds Nest, International House, Canterbury Crescent, SW9 7QD, Doors at 6pm, comedy from 8pm. Tickets £8-£12 online, £15 on the door. Collywobblers Comedy have lined up five comedians (some award-winning, some newbies) to bring an evening of laughs to Brixton’s new bar in the sky. As well as offering some of the best views in Brixton, cocktails, mocktails, pizza and a neighbouring sauna, the Bird’s Nest hosts a comedy line-up including Ali Woods, Tevin Everett, Greg Berman and Faye Soteri.

L.A. Baby 1 and 2 October, Bread & Roses Theatre, Clapham Manor St, SW4 6DZ, 9pm. Tickets £10. Written and performed by Wimbledon-born Ambrosine Davies and directed by Eduardo Barreto, this darkly comedic tale of Davies’ nine years chasing her acting dreams in L.A. The Edinburgh Guide described her performance as “dark and punchy, cleverly written, devastatingly honest and told with heart”.

The Dying Wish – a Tragicomedy 30 September and 1 October, Golden Goose Theatre, Camberwell New Rd, SE5 0RR, 8pm. Tickets £16. Written by Mauro Fazion and directed by Verônica Sarno, this performance uses “absurdist dialogue, surreal scenarios, and clownesque theatricality [to expose] the cracks in our systems of justice, bureaucracy, and institutionalised violence.”

The Vampire Run 2 October, Effra Social, Effra Rd, SW2 1DF, 7pm. Pay what you can on the door. This “fast-paced, hilariously deadly choose-your-own adventure” by award-winning writer and performer Jonathan Laury makes its debut at the Lambeth Fringe. Players must choose how to overcome obstacles in their quest to reach the vampire’s chamber — but could there be a traitor in their midst?
