Tulse Hill’s South London Botanical Institute (SLBI) becomes Mushroom University for seven Mondays in October and November.
You can learn how to identify fungi at sessions with local gardener Fabrice Boltho. Fabrice has worked with Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses and Myatt’s Fields Park.
Bring your specimens and photos and he and his friends will teach you how to identify local fungi.
All abilities are welcome. Booking, via Eventbrite, is appreciated so the organisers can prepare, but is not essential.
Suggested donation £5. Free for SLBI members.
Time: 5 to 7pm on October 13, 20 and 27, and November 3,1 0, 17 and 24.
The sessions will be focused on responsible collecting for education and not oriented towards harvesting for food. The British Mycological Society has guidance on picking fungi which can be found here.
