‘Fire-lit temple’ for Brixton’s Coldharbour Lane

Meat maestros Whole Beast have announced via Instragram that they are opening a restaurant at 336 Coldharbour Lane – former home of Shrub and Shutter – in November.

With a Peckham Rye pub residency favourably reviewed by local resident and food critic Jay Rayner last year, and a National Burger Award, owners Sam Bryant and Alicja Specjalna are taking the next step.

It will be a welcome development in Brixton where closures have been outnumbering openings.

A £10K Kickstarter fundraiser contributed funds for the venture.

Whole Beast – as the name reveals – aim to feed you every possible part of an animal; in their case preferably cooked over an open fire.

“We’re building a fire-lit temple to everything we stand for,” Sam told London On The Inside website.
