Women who create change in art, business, culture and their community are to be celebrated at a festival in Pop Brixton.
The Fe-Fest – part of National Inclusion Week – is organised by Impact Brixton and takes place over the weekend 27 – 29 September with workshops, exhibitions and keynote speeches.
Friday night will focus on the Motherworks exhibition by local photographer Fiona Freund (above).
It Illustrates and celebrates the “brilliant and bizarre duality” of the life of working mums – “A celebration of the women who hold up the economy with one hand and a baby with the other”.
Organisers want to raise awareness of the work women do in every field and to put Brixton on the map as a place that women from all backgrounds and stages of life can fulfil their potential and thrive.
