Brixton Village launched its Christmas season today (29 November) with Santa and an elfin helper, plus the Wonder Window – celebrating the mix of gifts and celebratory buys on offer in the Granville Arcade and Market Row.
A special attraction for each weekend in December before Christmas will be the Wrap Bar, offering a free gift-wrapping service for every BrixtonVillage purchase with wrapping designed by artist Samantha Almon Adeluwoye.
If you find it hard to choose presents, the Brixton Gift Card is available from the Black Farmer at 23 Market Row , Brixton Streetwear at 57 Granville Arcade and online at dub.sh/Brixton-gift-card (order online by 15 December to be sure of delivery of a physical card by Christmas Day).
Black Santa will be touring the village between 1 and 5pm on Saturday 6 and 13 December … and look out for a roaming four-piece Brixton Chamber Orchestra brass band playing a wide range of Christmas tunes on Saturday 20 December.
There will be face painting on Saturday 6 December and a Christmas photobooth on Market Row on 6 and 13 December – transforming you into your choice of seasonal character with a free printout to take home.
For the final car-free Saturday of the year on Atlantic Road on 13 December, Brixton Village is hosting a Dreamland party featuring a selection of its traders including Shimirose vegan skincare, Brixton Streetwear, Ugly Dumpling and Jalisco, plus guest South London retailers including Brixton’s Miss Pom Pom and Herne Hill based Lowie. Music from Brixton Village Lates and OSR Bar DJs.
