For 16 years, the Blog & Bugle celebrated Brixton in all its diversity, chronicling its heritage, its transformation and its community, without pay or funding, in the belief that independent local news matters.

Founded by Tim Dickens and Zoe Jewell, the paper was later carried forward by Linda Quinn and Alan Slingsby, who kept it running to the highest journalistic standards. Following Linda's death in 2021, Alan continued almost single handedly until his own sudden death this January 2026.

Thanks to the generosity of readers, we're now able to fulfil Alan's wish to preserve the thousands of stories, pictures and people featured over the years, as a permanent, living archive, housed at Lambeth Archives' Brixton HQ.
