Lambeth police, through the X/Twitter feed of the Central South Basic Command Unit (BCU) of the Metropolitan police, have announced that two members of the security staff at Brixton station have been removed from their posts “following concerns raised about … potential links to drugs”.

The tweets said local police officers worked closely with partners after concerns were expressed.

“Following this crucial joint work, we can confirm that two members of security staff have now been removed from their positions,” said the police.

“This action reinforces our dedication to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour. We’re committed to keeping our community safe.”

They expressed huge thanks to their partners in the British Transport Police and Southeastern railway for their “invaluable commitment to partnership working,” saying: “Together, we’re making Brixton station a safer environment for all customers and local residents.”
