Brixton House launches its 2026 season

Brixton House kicks off 2026 with theatre from pioneering artists and a call out for new stories which celebrate the voices of its community.

Described by the Guardian as “Captivating and powerful”, Roots Mbili Theatre’s Far Gone is a powerful one-man performance which traces a young boy’s journey from innocence to survival.

Latinx women from South London take centre stage in My Uncle Is Not Pablo Escobar, and dare you to call them invisible in this humorous yet politically urgent work. As Alejandra, Lucia, Honey and Catalina risk everything to expose a multinational bank, they confront the audience with what it means to be both a Londoner and Latinx.

A journey through ‘00s nostalgia and the media storm of Janet Jackson’s 2004 Superbowl half-time show with Nine Sixteenths, by acclaimed theatremaker Paula Varjack. In the 2004 SuperBowl half-time show, Janet Jackson’s career was derailed when Justin Timberlake exposed her breast on screen for nine sixteenths of a second. Explore the moment and the backlash through theatre, dance and lip sync.

The ever popular Housemates Festival returns for its 4th edition showcasing new work and supporting emerging creatives.

A host of community activities which reflect and represent the experiences of local people, round off the first half of the year.
