Brixton Immortals Domino Club is hosting a marathon free Black History Month extravaganza and celebration of Black heritage on Saturday 25 October at Clapham Library.
A cultural cornerstone of Brixton since the 1970s, the Immortals are inviting local organisations and businesses to hire a stall at the event’s market and cultural exhibition for just £30 per table. The deadline for booking is Thursday 25 September.
The market and exhibition runs from 11am to 4pm.
Visitors will be able to:
SHOP African and Caribbean products, fashion, art and books
EXPLORE Black history through Windrush artefacts, oral histories, and panels, with music from a Sugar Dread live show on Vibes FM from 2.30 to 5.30 pm
LEARN the cultural legacy of dominoes in inter-generational workshops as youth and elders play together to pass on tradition from 4.30 to 5.30 pm.

Clapham Library will be transformed into a “vibrant cultural hub” from 6.30 to 9.30 pm with performances including live drumming, spoken word, singers, and cultural dance.
The Domino room will be open from 4.30 to 9pm, with non-stop games for enthusiasts.
A Black Excellence panel and networking takes centre stage from 7.30 to 8pm, followed by guest speakers on Black history and resilience from 8 to 9.30 pm.
Entertainment continues with musical performances, comedy, poetry and storytelling from 9.30 to 10pm.
As the venue transitions into party mode, a fundraising raffle and auction will offer prizes and items from Black businesses. All proceeds will support youth mentorship and community initiatives.

The Black History Month Dance Party until 1am will have an extra hour to play with (the clocks go back as British summertime ends on Sunday 26 October) as top DJs entertain past midnight.
The event, say the Immortals, “will celebrate Black heritage, culture and unity, support Black-owned businesses and artists, offer family fun, food, and entertainment, and honour the Windrush legacy and community excellence.”
