The campaign group Protect Brockwell Park (PBP) is to instruct a specialist planning consultant to help it challenge the planning application for Brockwell Live events in 2026.

Tickets for all major events have been on sale for some time, with some ticket categories, including a headline appearance by Lily Allen, already sold out.

The group told its supporters today (16 December): “Once we have expert opinion, we can offer guidance on how best to make your voices heard.”

It renewed its appeal for funds to pay for its campaign.

Lambeth council recently abandoned two legal cases against PBP and agreed to pay its costs. It cancelled the Lambeth Country Show at the same time.

Summer Events Ltd – which has applied for planning permission to use part of Brockwell Park for a total of 32 days to cover the set-up and take-down of infrastructure for four events over two weekends in late May – is itself using a consultant, Turley, to pursue the application.

The application says that the “historic use” of parts of the park for hosting temporary events is an important part of the culture and community of the area, with many events returning year after year due to popular local and wider area demand.

“This includes the Brockwell Live Event series, which has been taking place at the park annually since 2023.”

Before this, individual events that are now part of the Brockwell Live series also operated in the park.

“In 2025 more than 100,000 Londoners attended Brockwell Live festivals, including 20,000 from the London Borough of Lambeth,” the application says.

Consultation on the planning application ends on 31 December.
