A chance to visit hidden London

A rare chance to get inside some of London’s most striking and rarely accessible landmarks is available as part of the Open House Festival, which takes place from 13 to 21 September.

A random draw for visits to the 158-metre high BT Tower – closed to the public since 1971 – and 10 Downing Street is now open.

Also in the draw are BBC Broadcasting House, Canada House on Trafalgar Square and a behind-the-scenes visit to The London Museum.

Entry is by free registration on the festival website. Search the website for the landmark to find links to enter the draw.

These limited-entry experiences join more than 700 other buildings, spaces, and events across London in the free London Open House Festival.

Brixton’s Windmill, Department Store and Cressingham Gardens estate, plus a tour of its “quietly radical landscape” with Lambeth guide Nikky Catto, are among local attractions on the festival list.

General booking opens on 20 August.

Also on offer in the draw is a walking tour in partnership with festival partner Airbnb Experiences. Bestselling author and guide Jack Chesher will explore a route from Aldwych to Bank.

The draw will close and be made on 18 August.
