Low cost yoga at Brockwell greenhouses

Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses’ new barn

Some low cost Saturday yoga places for low income Brixton Blog and Bugle readers are available at the new Brockwell Barn.

Organised by Sally Ramsden of Natural Connection, they begin on 5 November.

“We are now able to offer a few low cost places for Brixton Blog and Bugle readers on low incomes at Saturday Gentle Yoga from noon to 1pm in the brand new Barn building at Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses,” she said.

“An added bonus is a lovely walk in the fresh air through Brockwell Park to reach the Greenhouses, located in between the tennis courts and the walled garden.”

This is the first time that the local charity running the Greenhouses is able to offer year-round yoga classes thanks to the new weather-proof indoor space.

The low-cost yoga spaces are subsidised by Lambeth council as part of its support for winter wellbeing for everyone.

Most Saturday sessions are followed by free freshly picked herbal tea from the gorgeous greenhouse gardens and a friendly group chat.

People on low incomes or means tested benefits can ask to pay £5 – half the usual price – for Saturday yoga. If this is beyond your means, you can donate whatever you can manage.

If you want to apply for a low-cost place, it is essential to contact Sally with your request and a brief note about your situation so that applications can be prioritised. You will not be able to just turn up on the day.
