Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that bus stops outside Brixton Station serving Herne Hill, Tulse Hill and West Norwood are to be reinstated and that work on this will begin on 6 June.

Lambeth’s London Assembly Member, Marina Ahmad, said: “I am delighted that TfL have listened to the chorus of local concerns from residents, councillors and representations I have made and that work will now begin in the next few weeks to return bus stops serving Herne Hill, Tulse Hill and West Norwood outside Brixton Station.”

People have had to walk up tp half a mile from the station to get to the right stop.

“For most people this is a bit of a needless inconvenience, but for those with limited mobility or small children, it presents a logistical nightmare,” Ahmad, the London Assembly Member for Lambeth and Southwark, said.

“In the long-term, I really want to see more people in our borough use more sustainable ways of getting around and using their cars less.

“If this is to happen, we need to make it as easy as possible for Londoners to access public transport and the Government must provide the right level of funding to support this.”
