Free English courses in Brixton

A Brixton community organisation is offering free courses to help local people who are unemployed and need to improve their English language skills.

Orange Bow, based at 403-405 Brixton Road – over the Nationwide Building Society – has courses starting from 14 December ,from 10am to 12.30pm or from noon to 2.30pm.

Sessions will include speaking and listening and reading and writing as well as employability support, basic IT skills and volunteering opportunities.

The “Get on Board” courses are funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and supported by the Mayor of London. 

To be eligibe for the courses you must:

  • Be aged 18 or over 
  • Have rights to live and work in the UK 
  • Unemployed 
  • Live in any Greater London borough.
