Rapport Festival 2020

Rapport Festival 2020 imageRapport Festival returns for its fourth year, presenting a weekend of African diaspora film online from 18th – 20th September.

The festival offers a unique platform that celebrates and elevates African Diaspora artistic expression from across the international diaspora. Rapport Festival 2020 will be screening films, documentaries, conversations and visual arts created by African Diaspora artists online.

Founded by Lara Samuels (a theatre practitioner frustrated with the lack of diversity and opportunities for African Diaspora artists and practitioners), Rapport Festival has been created to redefine the artistic and cultural landscape of the UK.

By placing the spotlight on arts created by African Diaspora practitioners and artists from multiple genres and art disciplines, Rapport Festival offers a unique platform that celebrates and elevates African Diaspora artistic expression from across the international diaspora.

Rapport Festival embraces: visual artists, musicians, dancers, DJs, spoken word & live performance artists, filmmakers, theatre makers, innovative creatives, agitators and all round movers & shakers.

All ticket sales and donations go toward paying for overheads associated with running the festival, as well as supporting Rapport Festival’s future engagement in the African diaspora community.

Over 50 films are included in this year’s lineup, with stories touching upon the unique experiences of black people navigating our world with all its pitfalls today, yesterday – hopefully not forever. A full list of screenings can be found on the Rapport Festival website.
